I've decided that I want to try and make a detailed walkthough of the final game. Nothing super technical or fancy, but one that describes units and levels and strategies I like to use. I made a super quick test page of the first level here: www.rumblerobotics.com/shinobi/round1.htmlAny comments and stuff are welcome.

Pretty good. Maybe you should have more pictures of the actual levels though? Prehaps make them smaller.

Yeah, its still in the very early stages. I probably will more pictures of the levels, probably points of interest or difficult areas. Yes, I know some of the pics are quite large in filesize, mostly the larger level screenshots. The emulator takes large bmp pics and even converting them to jpeg doesnt help a whole lot. While it doesnt seem to be a problem for my DSL, I'll probably compress them more to be 56K/dialup friendly. i put all my pics i have so far here, theres a coupel I forgot to put up on the test page. www.rumblerobotics.com/shinobi

Which emulator are you using, by the way? The pictures seem to have interlace on.

I'm running "Gens". I pushed some buttons or something that messed with the resolution that made it interlacy and I'm sure how to revert it.

You should put where every secret location is for each area of every level, the only 2 I know off by heart are the two in level 1.2.

Thats a good idea, I know I don't know where they all are yet though, especially in the later levels. Feel free to post the ones you know.
i went looking for the first 3 levels and this is what i know.
1.1 none?
1.2 above the ropes
1.3 none?
2.1 none?
2.2 when you come to the first overhead platform thing, jump up on it, and then run and double jump left. theres another platform with some shurikens, jump up and you'll find some more.
2.3 none?
3.1 these arent really that secret but... when you come to the first brain jars that are broken, go up two more platforms to find some crates. at the far right-bottom of the conveyor belts theres some crates, at the top left of the belts theres some crates.
3.2 At the second 'haven' from the monster, theres an off color 'tunnel' going up. you can jump up this to find an extra life, some shurikens, and some health i think.
3.3 none?

I don't think there are any secrets to find in any boss fights. I'm pretty sure that one of the FAQs on GameFAQs for the game has where all of the secrets are, check it out.
